Tattoo Portrait

During a period of fascination with body art, a series of paintings evolved showing tattoos on young people from all walks of life. Skill level, reason and emotional attachment varied wildly from subject to subject.

Ascending Body

This 3 dimensional multimedia piece is a joint creation between artists Morey Curtis Dunbar and Susan Aurinko, who work together under the name SUMO, for the Surreal show in Chicago's Flatfile Galleries in May 2005. The tie of people to nature is exemplified in the transformation of human form with natural and animal elements.

Over the last few years I have developed a technique for painting portraits that combines photography and painting to include images and text. This young boy was the first in a venture into the world of portraits. The final product, a Personality Portrait, delves into the true nature of the subject.
